    • Dougal's obituary states that his parents were Edward and Sarah. Nevertheless I believe he does belong in this family, because of the 1891 and 1901 census records. Unfortunately I have not located a record for his marriage to Hattie (Fraser) Smith. Hattie's husband Frank is reported to have died in the Halifax Explosion (Dec. 6, 1917) so the marriage between Dougal and Hattie is presumed to be after that date
